After the global pandemic, they are more pressurised than ever before with a new focus on the impact of new technology and social media, rise of reported mental health issues amongst students, lack of resources, increasingly demanding or aggressive parents, set work boundaries at home and much more…Consequently, the modern teaching methodology can be detrimental to the mental and even physical wellbeing of educators.
Mental health workers to face a similar challenge when it comes to occupational stress and anxieties. They are attuned to the social-emotional wellbeing of clients and trained to monitor for signs such as trauma, anxiety, micro-aggression or depression. The question arise to whether or not they are able to set healthy boundaries with clients and work on their own mental health.
Awaken ’20 is a 4-day virtual learning conclave for educators, mental health workers, students studying psychology and social work, leaders that offers workshops, courses, guidance & practices that bring Mindfulness and other contemplative practices into daily life.
