PrimeED is an application-based program and a process that focuses on instituting simple Mindful Awareness practices in an early years’ set up. D.O.T. seeks to develop a students’ abilities to pay attention, focus better, self-regulate difficult emotions, be grateful and build positive heathy relationships.
PrimeED is a structured foundational programme whereby children learn through experiencing, embodying and embedding principles of Mindfulness into their everyday learning environment. A teacher-led collaborative learning time where both (teachers and students) practice Mindfulness, thereby creating a space for them to breathe, feel, notice and accept. It allows both teachers and students to focus their attention and form relationships from a place of greater self-awareness, empathy and kindness.
This program clearly lists out behavioural goals, learning outcomes which are then assessed after 10 weeks of implementation.
PrimeED helps to develop nine attitudes amongst students that promote interconnectedness, self – awareness and a humanist worldview.
They are:

7. Letting Go
8. Gratitude
9. Generosity, Kindness and Care
Each lesson plan allows a teacher to:
1. Prep students for Practice: Understand the topic, themes, and learning goals, understand aspects of Mindfulness, Social Emotional Learning, session requirements etc.
2. Introduction to the Practice: How to introduce the topic to students
3. Explicit Instruction/Teacher Modelling: Detailed instructions and guidelines on ways to lead the lesson.
4. Follow-up: Daily follow-up practices
5. Worksheets: Engaging worksheets at the end of the lesson
Why Mindfulness in the Classroom?
New research shows that classroom-based mindfulness programs can aid the development of executive function abilities in young children while helping them cope better with stress.

2. Implementation plan
Both teachers and coordinators are trained on implementation processes and daily instructional methodology. The Implementation plan also includes recording observations, monitoring, parental involvement plan and evaluation of effectiveness.
3. Mentor U – (A program for you)
Students reflect the minds of adults around them.
Mentor U is a hands-on program that aims to help educators make the transition and build Mindful & compassionate spaces in classrooms.
A year long Mentoring program helps educators build on their own practice, establish healthy relationships with peers and students’ and create a progressive – Mindful classroom environment. It is highly recommended for all educators to undergo the first year of this program.
